Lucy Wilde is a rookie agent of the Anti-Villain League. She is the love interest, later wife of Gru. She is the deuteragonist of Despicable Me 2, tritagonist of Despicable Me 3 and a major supporting character in Despicable Me 4.
After Agnes birthday party, Gru is approach by Lucy Wilde, an Anti-Villain League agent who request that he come with her. When Gru resist, she stuns him with her lipstick taser and forcibly abduct Gru. Two of the Minions who try to thwart her plans are capture also. They travel to AVL's underwater headquarter where Gru meets the league's director, Silas Ramsbottom. He ask Gru to assist its agents in their efforts to track down the perpetrator who stole a secret laboratory in the Arctic Circle.
Gru refuse the offer citing his need to get back to his jelly production and daughters. Before he leave, Lucy admit she is impres by his work as a villain and gave her business card to Gru, urging him to contact her if he change his mind.
Soo Gru contact Lucy and takes on the task of recovering the stolen mutagen. As Gru and Lucy work together, they grew close.
When, a determine matchmaking neighbor, Jillian, set a reluctant Gru up on a date with her rude and superficial friend Shannon. During the date, Shannon discovers Gru's wig and threatens to humiliate him, but Lucy save him from embarrassment by shooting her with a mild moose tranquilizer dart. They take Shannon home, and Gru realizes he is in love with Lucy. When he arrive at the mall the next day, the Anti-Villain League arrest Floyd Eagle-san, who protest vehemently that he was frame, after the AVL team uncover the empty mutagen jar in his shop. Silas tells Gru that the case is now closed and that Lucy will be transfer to AVL's Australian branch at her request.
Gru, heartbroken from the situation, told Agnes that she was right about him loving Lucy. However, Gru is unable to muster the courage to ask Lucy out before she leave.
Trying to cheer Gru up, she gave him her lipstick taser for memory's sake. " It's just a memento, you know, from the first time we met".
On her plane to Australia, Lucy is obviously sad about leaving Gru behind. She start to read a magazine and see Gru in one of the ads. Lucy starts to see Gru's face wherever she turns, making her realize she is in love with him and decide to choose Gru over the job opportunity in Australia, leaping out of the plane she is on to go back to Gru. Trying to find Gru at Eduardo's party she encounter with El Polito who remembers her from the break in the other night. Eduardo discover Lucy is an AVL agent and kidnap her after sense El Polito retrieves her AVL ID badge from her purse.
When Gru discover Lucy was in trouble he went to rescue her.
When Gru finds El Macho, the latter threatens to launch Lucy into the volcano where he fake his death. As El Macho lay his finger on the button, a Minion takes it away from him. El Macho bemoans that he wish to work with Gru and drinking a vial of PX-41, moves to kill Gru. Gru manage to electrocute El Macho with Lucy's lipstick taser. After El Macho collapse to the ground, Gru tries to untie Lucy who is strapped onto a TNT-loaded shark rocket. While attempting to do so, Pollito peck the trigger for the rocket, sending the pair flying towards the active volcano. While on the rocket, Lucy accept Gru's date invitation before the pair dives into the safety of the ocean, just seconds before the rocket explodes.
One hundred and forty-seven dates later, Gru and Lucy marry.
