Julie Madison is a fictional character in the DC Universe, best known as Batman's first significant love interest in the comics and a minor character in the 1997 movie, Batman & Robin.
Comics[]
Earth-Two
Julie Madison was Bruce Wayne's very beautiful, charming, actress girlfriend. She was originally depicted as a damsel in distress that Batman would be forced to rescue. His methods required a lot more effort when it came to rescuing Julie, such as travelling to Eastern Europe, showing how much he cared for her. Julie never learned of Bruce's secret identity, and eventually breaks off her relationship with him.
Post-Crisis
In Batman R.I.P., it is revealed that Julie grew frustrated with Bruce's secretive nature and left him for a better life. Bruce never noticed.
Batman & Robin[]
Following his failed relationships with Vicki Vale, Selina Kyle and Dr. Chase Meridian, Bruce Wayne began dating Julie. Unlike his previous key girlfriends, Julie did not discover Bruce's nocturnal identity. However, she was very keen to settle down with Bruce despite his reputation as a reckless 'ladies man', and it is implied that she was becoming increasingly frustrated with Bruce's apparent inability to be a 'one-woman man'.
What became of their relationship following Poison Ivy's arrest remains unclear. In one draft, Julie was murdered by Poison Ivy, hence never being seen nor mentioned later in the film.
