Michellee

Michellee (pronounced Michelle-E) is Guy-Am-I's love interest in the animated series Green Eggs & Ham. She is voiced by Diane Keaton.

History

Michellee was originally an accomplished painter, but moved into bean-counting to make ends meet once she had a daughter. Her husband died a long time ago.

Biography

When Guy first meets Michellee, he's pitching his latest invention to her employer. Things go well at first, but the machine explodes at the last minute and Guy walks out humiliated, with Michellee forming a low opinion of him.

As Guy travels on foot to the next city to find work, he passes Michellee and her daughter E.B. driving in the same direction. Michellee refuses to give Guy a lift despite E.B.'s behest on the assumption he's be a trouble-maker. They later meet up on a train, where they get to know each other. Unfortunately anytime Michellee starts to develop feelings for Guy, something interferes that makes him look bad. Eventually Michellee decides that Guy's no good and pushes him away seemingly forever.

When Michellee and E.B. get to the city, they visit the art gallery and see one of Michellee's paintings. This seems to reignite Michellee's fun-loving side and soon enough she finds out that the reason Guy seems to attract so much trouble is because he's been roped into rescuing an endangered chickeraffe from a wealthy collector. This snowballs into a massive chase to free the chickeraffe, with Guy managing to stop the villains by exploiting the defect in his flying machine. Impressed by Guy's resourcefulness, Michellee kisses him.

• Michellee is a vegan.
• Like a lot of love interests in Dr. Seuss adaptations, Michellee doesn't appear in the books. However, the mom and the kid inspired her and E.B. in Green Eggs and Ham.
