Romantic False Lead

The Romantic False Lead is a TV Tropes term that refers to a character that seems right to their admirer. To the audience (and occasionally the other characters) these types are usually bland, shallow or just flat-out jerks. Occasionally they can patch things up with their former admirer, but this is usually if they were already on friendly terms to begin with. Whenever a Romantic False Lead is exposed, it usually helps usher in the one true love.
